Systems Technician at Marinverkstaden in Karlskrona
Do you want to work in an inspiring environment in one of our World Heritage sites and enjoy beautiful Karlskrona from the seaside? Do you have a high school education, preferably with a focus on electrical or automotive technology or similar? Then you might be our new Systems Technician at Marinverkstaden. We are now looking for Systems Technicians with a focus on underwater vehicles (ROV) and sensors used underwater. About the Unit
The Underwater Weapons Department (UV-department) performs maintenance on existing underwater weapon systems in the Armed Forces. Marinverkstadens UV-department consists of about 30 employees and is part of the naval workshops with operations in central and southern Sweden. You will be part of a smaller group that performs maintenance on existing systems.
Main Responsibilities
- preventive and corrective maintenance on existing systems
- troubleshooting on underwater vehicles and associated installations on ships
- troubleshooting on electronic and electrical systems
- cable and fiber work
- installation work
- documentation
- maintenance of own equipment
- system support to units
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- approved high school education, preferably with a focus on electrical or automotive technology or equivalent
- good technical understanding
- knowledge of the Office suite
- good knowledge of Swedish and English, spoken and written
- driving license B
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is responsible, while also being proactive and action-oriented. You are used to working in a team and independently, are flexible, and find it interesting to solve problems and work with the maintenance of technical systems. You are meticulous and have a structured way of working and the ability to change pace when necessary as tasks may arise at short notice. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Employment form: Permanent employment. The Armed Forces apply a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority.

Position: Civil.
Start date: As soon as possible by agreement.
The assignment may involve work at another workplace where Marinverkstaden operates.
The position involves carrying out business trips, participating in training, and exercises in the war organization.

The overall task of the Naval Base is to support the naval units with logistics such as transportation, basing, surveillance, and medical care, both at home and abroad. The Naval Base has its headquarters in Karlskrona but operates where there is a need, for example in Berga/Muskö, south of Stockholm, and in Gothenburg. Other major tasks for the Naval Base include monitoring Sweden's 2700 km long coastline with territorial waters.
